I am using openCV in android to process a image (somewhat like the Google image recognition API).
I have been trying to understand the formula to convert an image to a colormap. I understand the conversion itself is a linear operation but I am not sure what formula is being used to map the input pixels (RGB).

The conversion is not linear, it's called a Look-Up Table.
For each of the three RGB values, you read a single value from your Look-Up Table, and perform the conversion using that value.
If your Look-Up Table has 256 values, then you will get 256^3 different shades of red, blue and green.

Windows: Freeze with mouse position in the "don't touch the desktop" mode
I have a Windows 10 pc that I use to watch movies. I noticed a few days ago that when the PC is in the "don't touch the desktop" mode, there is a very slight chance that the PC will freeze when the mouse moves at a certain position.
I have looked at the event viewer and can see that it is a freeze which happens for 1.2 seconds. Is there any log that could tell more about the situation?

In the end, I had the same issue as the OP - it seemed to be related to doing another job in an application, then trying to click on the desktop in the Taskbar when the "don't touch the desktop" was enabled.
I opened the Event Viewer, located under the Applications/Devices folder, and searched for the error event "AppName.exe" has encountered an exception".
I found the event named "An application failed to initialize properly (0x0)". That was the error that the application gave out, and that was it.
